This is a great six weight fly rod. Light in hand, low swing weight and plenty of power to punch a heavy fly into a stiff breeze and yet it will fish a small dry fly with some finesse.

As the first owner of the HS series 6wt in the USA, trust me when I say it’s everything in a rod that I want and has overly impressed me since the first day of use. It blows all my other 6wt. rods out of the water. It has allowed me to lay out 70 ft.+ casts with ease with even the most cumbersome streamer, weight, trailer setups. I switch to dries and can softly place a cast from 5 ft out & as far out as the end of the length of my line. It loads tremendously, has great sensitivity and I absolutely love the new black and red color scheme. You nailed it again RT and allowed me to finally rest my 11 yr. old diesel 5 wt. Thanks again for making my fishing dreams become reality! Fish on RT, thanks for all the great memories and times on the water. Can’t wait for where it takes me next:-). Big fish I’m sure…. Suuuuuuu!

By far the best 6 wt. single handed rod I own and have used. I have other brands yet this lives in the boat. The feel, power and flex give this rod the ability to throw large streamers and soft hackles with no changes.
I highly recommend Red Truck to all my friends and family who are looking for a rod that casts like a million but you don’t have to sell your house to afford

    Deshutes River 5/18-5/25

Fished my new Diesel High Sierra 6wt for the salmonfly hatch this week. Since I packed light, I brought my Sage Z , a Burkheimer, a Loop 6wt, and a new Winston Micro Spey, and for good measure a Beulah 5 switch. So maybe way too much gear…but in my defense it was a week of fishing and a big river. The weather turned to crap, the wind blew, it rained, and dropped 20 degrees. Good news, those fish pounded the dry fly ( Thank the Almighty for the Chubby Chernobyl). The only Rod I used was the Diesel. It hucked as far as the Buelah, was accurate under the bushes and trees like the Z , presented the big bug like the Burkheimer, easier to fish than the Winston, and tracked better than the Loop. Here is my advice, buy the Diesel, forget the rest ( save yourself 500+ bucks) and go fish.

    Best of the Best!

I use my 6wt on the White River here in Arkansas. Throws incredible easy with plenty of power yet has amazing finesse. You can feel every head shake and run but has plenty of backbone. 10/10 would recommend!

My favorite 9ft 6wt light weight great feel and can handle small dries down to #24 with 6x and streamers equally well. Had clients land Stillwater bows up to 32 inches on it with no problems Such a versatile rod. Own a few now.
