The Red Truck Diesel 10wt Fly Rod
Your guide is polling you along a white sandy flat. You are completely alert and looking for any sign of that v shaped tail! You spot one! A big one! The fish is happily eating about 80 feet out at 1 o’clock. You take a deep breath and begin casting your lead eyed crab with the wind blowing into you hard. Three quick false cast until you deliver the fly right on the money. Just as you begin to twitch the crab the tail shoots up into the air. You strip set hard and the fish begins to pull of line at an alarming rate. Permit on!
The 9ft 10wt is your big game fishing solution, the one best answer for giants anywhere. From the windy waters of Florida to Southern Belize the Red Truck Balanced 10wt Fly Rod will make every cast and presentation easier. A good 10wt makes casting in the wind with heavy flies and long accurate cast a breeze.
- A great rod starts with the grip. Red Trucks full wells grip is not only ergonomic but enhances feel and efficiency of casting and fishing.
- Matte finished reducing rod glare, reflection from the sun hitting the rod blank caused from shiny rods, which can spook fish.
- Sanded and precision fit ferules, where the rod pieces come together, allow for repairs in just 3 days and eliminates the need for you to ship the entire rod back to us.
- Effortlessly cast in the wind.
- 4 piece design meets carry on restrictions when traveling to tropical destinations.
- Powerful mid section allows for long and accurate casts.
- Hand made with incredible craftsmanship and premium components.
Where will your Red Truck take you?
Catch & Capture –
The 10wt Diesel has been a staple fly rod setup for my own angling and as well for my clients to have the pleasure to fish. Casting musky flies all day can get grueling but the 10wt Diesel shines with effortless casting big flies in just about any condition. Team this rod with an intermediate or sink tip line and you have one bada$$ esox stick! Not only using this rod on a regular basis, this rod has proven to be a absolute must to take fish in the saltwater!

Where to begin? This rod loads up nicely and gets where I need it. Right in front of a rooster, jack or dorados face. I personally use it with a weighted line and man they pair up nicely. My clients enjoy using this rod as well. You never know what you’ll come across in southern baja but we got the right rods!

I used the 9 ft, 8 wt. with float line for my Indicator fishing, with that fat leach on top and tiny midge on bottom and used this bad ass 9ft, 10wt., in knarly swirling winds at legendary, Pyramid Lake in Nevada few weeks back, streaming some fat whoolly buggers on sink tip line for them big, mean, angry Lahontan Rainbows. The rod is easy to cast in tough conditions, and the consistency feels great, especially with more complex set ups and fatty flies. Once that fish is on, the rod holds up very well, with a great solid back bone, withstanding those violent headshakes, tiring out the fish without any effort. Just ordered the 7wt. Switch Rod, will write a review after my next trip to Pyramid, which is next week! “Here fishy fishy fishy fishy”, quote from the infamous AL D. !
